Step 1 of 9 – Safety (please do not skip this step)
Use a wire/pipe power detector to ensure that there are no electrical cables or water pipes in the wall where you intend to position the floating desk. You do not want to electrocute yourself, or flood you house!

Step 2 of 9 – Vertical positioning of the floating desk
Use a tape measure or spirit level to mark the height position of the desk on your wall. The pencil mark should be to the bottom edge of V shaped wall support element and as such should be 118mm below the top edge of desk.

Step 3 of 9 – Horizontal positioning of the floating desk
Use a tape measure or spirit level to mark the horizontal position of the desk on your wall. The pencil mark should be to the centre of the desktop location.

Step 4 of 9 – Draw a level line
Use the spirit level and a pencil to draw a perfectly horizontal line along the area of the wall where you intend to mount the floating desk. If your spirit level has a measure on it, draw the line from the vertical mark carried out in step 3. The length of the line should be 120mm from either side of the horizontal mark carried out in step 4. If not, use your tape measure and redraw the lines a couple of times the same length as the wall support element.

Step 5 of 9 – Mark the position of the floating desk
Note: This is a two-person job due to the weight and size.
Offer the floating desk to the wall ensuring the bottom edge of the V shaped wall support align to the mark done in step 4. Ensure that the desk is also positioned correctly on the horizontal line. Keeping the floating desk perfectly still, use a pencil to mark the screw holes on the wall (this could be easier as a three-person job with two people holding the desk and one person marking the screw positions).

Step 6 of 9 – Drill into the wall
Use a wood drill bit for studded, plasterboard walls, or masonry bit for stone, brick or breezeblock walls. Drill into the walls on the dead centre of all your screw hole markings. Drill the holes deep enough into the wall to fully accommodate the raw plugs.

Step 7 of 9 – Insert raw plugs
Insert the raw plugs into the drilled holes. Ensure that the raw plugs are fully inserted and they sit flush to the wall – tap gently with a hammer if necessary. If any raw plugs are sticking out, they will prevent the desk from sitting flush to the wall when mounted.

Step 8 of 9 – Fix the floating desk to the wall
Screw the V shaped wall support element into position onto the wall using a screwdriver and countersunk screws. Ensure that it is level and correctly secured
Safety tip – Ensure you use long sturdy screws and applicable raw plugs. These will be taking all the weight of your desk and its items

Step 9 of 9 – Locking the desk in upright position
The floating desktop can be set in the upright position by lifting the desktop vertically and using the small catch to lock it in its position.
Safety tip – When desktop is in its upright position, ensure that the catch is fully rotated to prevent the desktop from falling back down
